The Fine Art of Brokering an Introduction — A Cute Story

John and Mary Sullivan were both born and raised on Martha’s Vinyard, as were their respective parents, grandparents, and previous generations dating back over 150 years.

They had been married for several years, and Mary was 8 ½ months pregnant.

Once a month they would take the ferry to Woods Hole for food, supplies, and a bite to eat.

On the ferry back to Martha’s Vinyard, Mary went into labor, and despite her best efforts to delay the birth until they reached the island, her baby was born on the ferry 15 minutes out from the pier.

John and Mary named their baby girl Dorothy; and other than occasional vacations abroad and monthly provisioning trips to Woods Hole, Dorothy lived on Martha’s Vinyard the entire 97 years of her life.

In his opening remarks at Dorothy’s funeral the priest stated: We are here today to celebrate the life of Dorothy Sullivan, a stranger to our shores.

The moral of the story is: Don’t remain a stranger on the shores of commerce. Have a trusted partner broker an introduction.

We can help with that.
